| I am very sorry to tell you this, and I know it will break your hearts, but I have decided to start a new xanga, with the user name VincentValentine13. I realise that this means you will have to re-subscribe, but this will kind of weed out the loyal from the un, you know. Sorry, but it had to be done. I will leave this xanga open, and I will even update now and then, but the main updates will now be on VincentValentine13. | | |
| Befor I begin with my usually planned entry, I would like to state that I am very sorry for my statements made last night. They were not compassionate in the least, I should not have even voiced those statments. I apologize if I hurt anyone with those statements. I must thank my friend, Keith, for allowing me to see the error of my ways. Thanks, buddy. We now return you to the regularly scheduled entry.
This is the poem on which the song, "Mike Teavee," in the new Charlie and the Chocolate Factory movie.
"The most important thing we've learned, So far as children are concerned, Is never, NEVER, NEVER let Them near your television set– Or better still, just don't install The idiotic thing at all. In almost every house we've been, We've watched them gaping at the screen. They loll and slop and lounge about, And stare until their eyes pop out. (Last week in someone's place we saw A dozen eyeballs on the floor.) They sit and stare and stare and sit Until they're hypnotised by it, Until they're absolutely drunk With all the shocking ghastly junk. Oh yes, we know it keeps them still, They don't climb out the window sill, They never fight or kick or punch, They leave you free to cook the lunch And wash the dishes in the sink– But did you ever stop to think, To wonder just exactly what This does to your beloved tot? IT ROTS THE SENSES IN THE HEAD! IT KILLS IMAGINATION DEAD! IT CLOGS AND CLUTTERS UP THE MIND! IT MAKES A CHILD SO DULL AND BLIND HE CAN NO LONGER UNDERSTAND A FANTASY, A FAIRYLAND! HIS BRAIN BECOMES AS SOFT AS CHEESE! HIS POWERS OF THINKING RUST AND FREEZE! HE CANNOT THINK–HE ONLY SEES! 'All right!' you'll cry. 'All right!' you'll say, 'But if we take the set away, What shall we do to entertain Our darling children? Please explain!' We'll answer this by asking you, 'What used the darling ones to do? 'How used they keep themselves contented Before this monster was invented?' Have you forgotten? Don't you know? We'll say it very loud and slow: THEY...USED...TO...READ! They'd READ and READ, AND READ and READ, and then proceed To READ some more. Great Scott! Gadzooks! One half their lives was reading books! The nursery shelves held books galore! Books cluttered up the nursery floor! And in the bedroom, by the bed, More books were waiting to be read! Such wondrous, fine, fantastic takes Of dragons, gypsies, queens, and whales And treasure isles, and distant shores Where smugglers rowed with muffled oars, And pirates wearing purple pants, And sailing ships and elephants, And cannibals crouching 'round the pot, Stirring away at something hot. (It smells so good, what can it be? Good gracious, it's Penelope.) The younger ones had Beatrix Potter With Mr. Tod, the dirty rotter, And Squirrel Nutkin, Pigling Bland, And Mrs. Tiggy–Winkle and– Just How The Camel Got His Hump, And How The Monkey Lost His Rump, And Mr. Toad, and bless my soul, There's Mr. Rat and Mr. Mole– Oh, books, what books they used to know, Those children living long ago! So please, oh please, we beg, we pray, Go throw your TV set away, And in its place you can install A lovely bookshelf on the wall. Then fill the shelves with lots of books, Ignoring all the dirty looks, The screams and yells, the bites and kicks, And children hitting you with sticks– Fear not, because we promise you That, in about a week or two Of having nothing else to do, They'll now begin to feel the need Of having something good to read. And once they start–oh boy, oh boy! You watch the slowly growing joy That fills their hears. They'll grow so keen They'll wonder what they'd ever seen In that ridiculous machine, That nauseating, foul, unclean, Repulsive television screen! And later, each and every kid Will love you more for what you did. P.S. Regarding Mike Teavee, We very much regret that we Shall simply have to wait and see If we can get him back his height. But if we can't–it serves him right." | | |
| Normally, I don't enjoy villains who are full of themselves, but I was thinking. I think that Sesshomouru has every right to treat Inuyash the he does. Little brothers can be such brats, and mine is just like Inuyasha.

| I just saw what is the perhaps the greatest movie of the year, minus the Corpse Bride, 'cause I haven't seen it yet. The movie I'm talking about is Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. This is an amazing moving, and it was worth the wait. By wait, I mean that the movie started 45 minutes late, and the audience had numerous people that called the theatre management about the delay. Anyway, I loved Tim Burton's directing in this movie, and Danny Elfman's music is so incredible, I went out and bought the soundtrack today. I was blown away, though the squirells will probably haunt my dreams for a while. I cannot wait to see the new Tim Burton/Johnny Depp/Danny Elfman movie, The Corpse bride. The trailer they showed in the theatre contained music from the Series of Unfortunate Events, The Nightmare Before Christmas, and the Stepford Wives, three of my favorite movies, which makes me wonder if Danny Elfman had a hand in the music for these movies. I also got to see the movie with my two friends, which was really cool. We had alot of fun, and all adored the movie. I cannot wait till the movie comes out in the future. Johnny Depp did a fantastic job as Willy Wonka. I have to go to Pittsburgh next week, so having ttwo new CDs will make the trip easier to bear. Today I also bought the soundtrack for the first season of Azumango Dio, which I love and think is really funny. | | |
| Greetings to you all. The first thing I would like to say is that I have changed my layout, incase you haven't noticed, and I think I like it, do you? I also have started watching Inuyasha, which is really cool, considering that they started the entire series over again. Anyway, I got to see the new Teen Titans episode! I feel so bad for Raven, it's just not fair! How could any father be like that, of course, my father and I don't have so great a relationship, and I mean, a really not good relationship, but nothing like that, I just can't fathom it. I suppose that if my father was a demon king, I would find myself in the same situation. Weel, that was my serious statement, so now I'm going to ramble on about my fanfic. I have updated, so if any of you were reading it, it's there, and if you haven't read it, I'm VincentValentine13 at www.fanfiction.net.
See ya all later | | |
